Biography
Associate Professor Paul Hofman is a paediatric endocrinologist who divides his time between research, teaching and clinical work at Auckland's Starship Hospital and the Liggins Institute. Along with Professor Wayne Cutfield, he carried out a pivotal study showing that growth retarded children are insulin resistant, and they are now establishing the underlying aetiology of this phenomenon. He is interested in the hormonal control of growth and the regulation of insulin sensitivity.
