Biography

Dr Mhoyra Fraser has contributed substantially to the understanding of the maturation of the hormonal feedback loop that controls glucocorticoid levels and how this is disrupted when fetuses are deprived of oxygen or undernourished. She did her PhD in Auckland with Mont Liggins on fetal endocrine systems after completing her MPhil with Peter Gluckman. Following this she spent 10 years doing research in Canada. Mhoyra's main research interests are in investigating the adverse effects of preterm fetal exposure to stress on fetal development and long term health.
